The Academy of Advanced African Studies

The Bayreuth Academy of Advanced African Studies (founded on the 1st of October, 2012) is a multi-field Research Center at the University of Bayreuth. It is based in the University’s prominent focus on African Studies (at the Institute of African Studies). Research sits at the core of the Academy, and one of its main goals is the strengthening of the academic exchange between fields of research focusing on Africa and those with other focal points, especially in the Social Sciences and the Humanities.
