In November 2016, Professor Dr. Danillo Barata from the Universidade Federal de Reconcavo de Bahia (Brasil) visited the Institute of African Studies of the University of Bayreuth. He was one of the first fellows of the International Fellowship Program of the University of Bayreuth. His visit fostered not only the growing partnership between the Institute of African Studies and the from the Universidade Federal de Reconcavo de Bahia but also the Agora-network with universities in Brasil, Colombia and Mozambique – established by Prof. Dr. Ute Fendler and Prof. Dr. Eberhard Rothfuß. In this context, Danillo Barata presented his research on the international workshop „Encounters: Crossing perspectives – Crossing disciplinaries“, organised by BIGSAS and the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, Universidad del Valle, Cali (Colombia).
